NO SQUEAK
SUPER SMOOTH
TWIN TUBE PIVOT SLEEVES
DJM Suspension has solved a small problem with squeaky or rough pivoting urethane bushing. This condition is mostly caused by over tightening the pivot bolt to the bushing. When using urethane bushings, the steel pivot sleeve must be able to move freely around the pivot bolt. Over tightening will clamp either the sleeve or the bushing into the mounting flange restricting the pivot movement. Using the new DJM Suspension twin pivot sleeves solves this nagging problem.

DRILL 1/8" HOLE
This new twin tube pivot design enables the inner sleeve to be clamped in the mounting flange (fully tightening the pivot bolts) because the bolt is no longer used as the pivot point. The inner sleeve also holds the flange width eliminating the over tightening problem that crushes the urethane bushing.

FILE BURRS
The outer sleeve is already installed in the control arms but still needs a small hole for a grease path. Using a 1/8” drill, line drill though the zerk fitting hole. The drilling operation will leave a burr on the inside of the sleeve that must be removed. Use your rat tail file to completely remove all burrs from drilling and on the ends of the sleeve. Make sure you clean all chips and dirt.

INNER SLEEVES ARE .050" LONGER THAN THE OUTER SLEEVE.
Now that the outer sleeves are drilled and cleaned it is important to check the inner sleeves. These sleeves should be about .050” longer than the outer sleeve. You should assemble them before greasing to check that the length is slightly longer and they rotate smoothly. Now it is good to lightly grease the inner sleeve and insert it into the control arm. Install the control arm per the installation instructions. The pivot of the arm should be smooth. Tighten pivot bolts to 40ft lbs DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN use a drop of thread lock on the nuts.
